Spyshots of new pick up of GWM have been circulating in the internet.

The new pick up has a big new front grille, Integrated bumper design, trapezoid shape air intake grille design, short / long cargo bed, upgraded version, etc variants. According to the media speculation, the new pick up could be the new model of Wingle 8 and Wingle 9 but this is never confirmed officially by GWM. Nevertheless, from the observation of the photos it should be a total brand new series of products. The new pick up will be announced in the coming Shanghai Motor Show this year.

There could be an off-road variant for the new pick up. This variant has a more vigorous and domineering look and a more solid design for the rims, side step, etc. With the customised design, the front bumper will have winch hole where as the rear bumper will have towing hook. This variant also come with a cargo/luggage rack at the roof top.

According to the news, the new pick up will be manufactured on a totally new platform and not on a Haval H9 platform that had been reported earlier. This new pick up will be manufactured in GWM’s new plant in Chongqing. The new plant, expected to be operatonalable in 2019, will be used mainly to manufacture GWM pick up and Haval SUV products. 

Last year 28/9/2018, GWM announced the launching of independent brand pick up series. It plans to launch more than 5 new products in the next 3 years.  Not long after the launching of WINGLE 7 in November last year, this model had already taken the second spot in term of sales.
